Le Vie dei Tesori

L'Orto Botanico, Palermo (via Lincoln)
A friend of mine in Palermo (grazie, Danilo!) alerted me to his some days ago, and I thought it was worth sharing!  For those of you who will be in Palermo or live there now, don't miss Le vie dei tesori, ten events featured during the weekends of October that highlight the collections of the University of Palermo.  More details can be found on their web site and/or Facebook page.  Unfortunately, there's no English translation of the pages but you can get a good sense of what's going on and when.

Definitely visit Palazzo Steri which houses some amazing works of art and definitely check out the painting by Renato Guttuso, Vucciria (if you click on this link, it will take you to a wonderful photo of it taken by flickr member, furio.castellucci).  Each location hosts guided visits conducted by former students and "Amici dei musei siciliani".  Many of the other sites will also prove to be worthy of seeing.

Visit their site for more information.
